A plastics compounding plant needed storage for 6 different plastic resins (PP, PE, ABS, PA, PC, PBT) with zero cross-contamination. Requirements: dedicated silos per material, nitrogen blanketing for hygroscopic resins, automated material routing, and dust-free operation.

Manxing provided 6 x 200t stainless steel (304) silos with polished internal surfaces (Ra < 0.8 μm). Each silo has dedicated pneumatic conveying lines. The 3 hygroscopic resins (PA, PC, PBT) have nitrogen blanketing. The automated routing system uses a centralized control system to direct each material to the correct compounding extruder. The dedusting system removes fines and angel hair.

The system handles 50,000 tons of plastic pellets annually with zero cross-contamination incidents. Material changeover time reduced from 4 hours to 30 minutes. The compounding plant achieved ISO 9001 certification with the new storage system.
